Stephen Allen Griffiths

Stephen began his music and stage career in his hometown of Metuchen, New Jersey, and later migrated to south Texas. He managed major stage performances for concerts and theater productions. He established, produced and promoted the Annual Beggar’s Banquet, a multi-day music festival, for several years in the late seventies, showcasing local rock bands in the San Antonio area. Stephen’s love of music brought him back onto the concert stage, leading Shyster in the 80’s, a very sought-after Florida rock dance band.

Multi-talented, Stephen was also quite active in regional theater, playing the lead roles in Houston, Sarasota, and productions of Hair, Candide, Man of La Mancha, Chess, Two Gentlemen of Verona, and Showboat. He simultaneously employed his technical expertise in lighting, sound, and stage management during Sarasota’s Player’s Theatre’s most widely acclaimed seasons (1984-86).

Currently, “Hairball” can be found enchanting audiences in the Winter Haven area, at private parties, weddings, community gatherings, house concerts, clubs, and major events. He is honored and privileged to have sung the National Anthem at spring training games for the Chicago White Sox, Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds, Baltimore Orioles, and Detroit Tigers.

What his audience says....

“Before the headline act was wonderful acoustic artist Stephen Allen Griffiths otherwise known as Hairball!!  His tag line is "Music to listen to" and he is right -- I would have enjoyed another set or 2 of his music. I'm glad he plays at many local venues”!
